Just a reminder that the Mill Pond Folk Festival will be held this Friday and Saturday, June 8 and 9 in the Mill Pond and Stone Hill sims. With over 40 musicians, three stages for live music, and a fabulous arts festival, this event promises to be fantastic and the first event of this magnitude we’ve ever been crazy enough to attempt! Please try to spend some time with us this weekend – it’s all about our community!
What a fantastic festival, well organised and a great atmosphere, even though I only managed to catch a handful of acts due to time differences.
Being there persuaded me to dig up my city roots and take a rental at Stone Hill.
Will some events be planned for a bit more European (and African in my case) friendly time? Mid-day sl time is a good time to start (round 7-8pm GMT). Surely that is not too early to get some of the musicians out of bed on weekends?!
Hi Kris! Good to have you with us on Stone Hill and I’m thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the festival. I’m so happy that everything worked so well and I think everyone really enjoyed it.
I agree with your comments about having more live music at Euro-friendly (or in your case Africa-friendly) times. We’re planning another folk festival for the fall and we’ll try to kick things off a bit earlier with some more musicians! Thanks so much for the comments!
Hey Micala, I see you haven’t been able to post here for a long time. But it’s a good idea…hope you (or other members) can get back to this soon!
BTW, I love my spot at Mill Pond next to Open Latte.
